Apple to unveil iPhone 5S today

In less then 30 minutes Apple will be unveiling the next best iPhone and hopefully some other products as well. From the many rumors, we will be expecting to see only two products during today’s announcement which will be live streamed via the Apple Events page at 1:00 PM EDT. We can expect to see the iPhone 5S, a replacement model to the iPhone 5 with a few minor tweaks and very similar form factor. And we can also expect to see the iPhone 5C which is a lower tiered “plastic” type iPhone for those that want the iOS experience but can’t afford to pay the full pop. ( The C is supposed to stand for Color folks, not Cheap)

We also can expect to see a gold/champagne colored iPhone 5S being added to the traditional white/black.  And of course, we will see iOS 7 in its final format. We have seen six beta versions and looking for that seventh which will most likely be made available today for developers and we sure hope to see A LOT of changes before going Gold Master.

And here is a list of announcements we would like to see:

  • iPad Mini Retina
  • iPad 5
  • iWatch Smart Watch
  • Apple TV (the much anticipated television, not the set top media streamer)

We have found  a leaked video teaser about the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C so this should keep you interested while we wait for the official event to start.

Yes, obviously its not a leaked video, but we sure do find it funny, along with almost 3 Million hits they have received thus far.

If you want to watch the event, stay tuned as we will try to get an embed link just as soon as we see one available. Or go to the Apple Events Page and keep your refresh button active.  (Please remember you must be using Safari for the live stream)

1:05 PM – There is  no live stream for the event so you will need to follow the blogs closely. Engadget, The Verge, and AppleInsider are some good choices until we get invited one year.

1:15PM – iOS7 is being shown right now. It will feature an improved Siri that can search tweets and comes in a new male voice as well, new ringtones, the ability to group photos by moments based on time and location,  more sharing options in photos, new music experience with iTunes Radio (US ONLY), and will be available on September 18 as a free download. (iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2+, and 5th Gen iPod Touch)

1:25 PM –  iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C have been announced and unveiled for the first time officially which will replace the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5C will come in green, white, blue, red, and yellow and will come with 4″ display, A6 processor, higher capacity battery, and console level graphics. The iPhone 5C will be $99 for 16GB and $199 for 32GB on a 2 year contract. (prices are in USD) If you want to cover up that colored iPhone 5C, you can purchase cases for $29.

1:45 PM – The iPhone 5S will come in 3 colors. Grey, Silver, and Gold are the 3 “metal” colors of the new iPhone 5S which promises to have 56X faster graphics, 40X faster cpu, and comes equipped with an A7 64bit processor to deliver at least 2X faster experience.

1:50 PM – Battery life claims to be 10 hours, and up to 250 hours of standby.  The iPhone 5S will be $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB on 2 year contracts and available on Friday September 13 for pre-order and launching September 20.
