Amazon.ca has launched a Home Automation Store

In case you missed it, home automation is at an all time high. We are currently reviewing more then 10 products in this category and are very excited to see what the future holds in this category.  Amazon Canada also feels strongly and has opened up a separate portal on the Amazon.ca website to showcase home automation products and you will also find some great deals.

To view the full selection, visit www.amazon.ca/homeautomation.

To celebrate the launch of this store, Amazon.ca will feature great deals on select Home Automation items all week long, including:

· 71% off Sennheiser HD449 Headphones
· 49% off Seagate Expansion 2TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive
· 33% off Philips HR2357/05 Pasta Maker
· 23% off Radio Thermostat Company of America Radio Thermostat CT50 WiFi 7-Day Programmable Thermostat

If I can offer some advice about purchasing home automation products, I would strongly recommend you do some research about what it is you are trying to accomplish. Many home automation products offer access to control the products from your iOS or Android device which is awesome! But..keep in mind there are so many components to your home that having a surplus of apps could get very confusing after a while. Several companies have tried to make this simpler such as Wink Hub, SmartThings, Logitech, and Revolv but this is a very rapidly changing field and I would say expect some disappointment with compatibility and fragmentation for the next few years.
