We all know Rogers has seriously been lacking in terms of mobile device selection, especially with regards to mobile gaming, but that will all change in late March when they release the Xperia Play (which up to now has been affectionately known as the “Playstation” phone).
The device will be Rogers first official Android 2.3 Gingerbread device and will be powered by a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Yes this is a last-gen mobile processor… not very impressive you say? Well how about a dedicated GPU allowing for true 3D rendering of games at 60 fps? Turn the phone to landscape and slide it open to reveal a very familiar looking Playstation controller D-Pad with Square, Triangle, Circle, X buttons. This is the first ever mobile device with design lineage traceable back to the console experience sitting in your living room (will Microsoft answer with an “Xbox” phone?)
