Microsoft has announced that legendary directors David Fincher and Tim Miller have teamed up with 343 Industries to help deliver one of the most anticipated launch trailers of the year. The produced such titles as The Fight Club, The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Miller said, “I’m excited about the opportunity to direct the Halo 4 launch. Halo is one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories. The chance to tell a story that explores never-before-seen facets of Master Chief’s journey is an honor.”
Miller also added that the goal with Scanned is to “deliver a blockbuster, Hollywood-quality trailer that raises the bar for the award-winning legacy of live-action Halo storytelling and gets fans stoked for the return of Master Chief.”
The launch trailer will premiere on October 18, during an episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon which airs on NBC at 12:35ET/11:35 CT, so make sure your PVR is not full and be ready for the trailer. The trailer titled “Scanned” filmed in Prague, promises to offer a captivating look at the backstory of Master Chief and provide a glimpse of the new threat he will be encountering in Halo 4.

The extended two-minute trailer will make its world premiere during the Oct. 18 episode of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” (airs weeknights on NBC at 12:35am ET/11:35 CT) before the launch of “Halo 4” on November 6. It will be available simultaneously on Halo Waypoint.
