  • Multimedia Dock DK300 is the ideal Extra to complement the Xperia™ PLAY
  • Includes smart application trigger to automatically launch desktop alarm application on Xperia™ PLAY when docked
  • DK300 allows for easy charging and connection to a home stereo system

February 13, 2011, Barcelona, Spain – Sony Ericsson Extras is launching Multimedia Dock DK300 to coincide with the release of the Xperia™ PLAY. The dock will offer charging, line out to a home stereo system and smart application trigger, which will automatically transform the phone into an alarm clock.

The Multimedia Dock will be the perfect place to charge the Xperia™ PLAY, ensuring users always have the power to play and challenge their friends.

Users can make the most of their handset’s audio capabilities by combining the handset with a DK300 connected to a home audio system, making it the ideal solution for listening to mobile music at home. Connecting the dock to a home audio system is simple to set up, requiring only the 3.5mm cable provided.

The DK300 recognises when the Xperia™ PLAY has been docked and automatically launches the desktop clock application, meaning users will never be late for that gaming session with friends ever again. The dock will transform the Xperia™ PLAY into an alarm clock displaying the time, date, today’s weather and all their photos.

Said Mette Schultz, Product Marketing Manager, Sony Ericsson Extras: “The DK300 extends the functionality of the Xperia™ PLAY, helping the handset to fit into your life, whether that’s as an attractive clock radio in the bedroom, a showpiece in the living room as a digital photo frame, a central part of your home audio system or keeping it charged so it’s ready to play whenever you are.”

The Multimedia Dock DK300 is available in black or white to match the colour choice of the Xperia™ PLAY. The kit includes multimedia dock DK300, micro USB charger (EP310) and music cable (MC100).

The Multimedia Dock DK300 will be available in selected markets from March 2011.
