Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that Verizon Wireless will be offering unlimited data plans at $30 USD per month. “I’m not going to shoot myself in the foot,” he told the Journal. Currently, new subscribers have access to two capped plans, the largest only providing 2 GB of data for $25 USD monthly.
One thing that is important to remember, is that voice and data can not be sent at the same time on the CDMA network that Verizon provides.
Currently in Canada, the following data plans are available for smartphone/tablets:
-
Rogers is offering 250mb data plans for $15 monthly, or 5GB for $35 monthly.
-
Bell Canada offers the same $15 and $35 plans.
-
Telus is offering a 500mb for $25 monthly and a 5GB plan for $60 monthly.
